RBI Academy Drill – Batting Stance

YouTube video

RBI Academy Coach Nick Kern is talking about Batting Stance. Step 1: The first thing to focus on when learning or teaching a batting stance is to be in an athletic position. So, focus on where their feet are, so having your feet on the outside with your knees being inside that your hips being inside your knees. You don’t want at any point to have your knee outside your feet or your hip outside your knee. To also be in an athletic position you need to have a little bend in your knees and not stand straight up and then if you are still straight up getting them to have a little bend in there back. Once in this spot they should be able to feel strong and stable. Step 2: Is focusing on where their arms are but to start follow where Coach Nick is saying to start. The beat place to copy this stance is by searching a up a photo of the MLB logo and using that as a guide to get into that exact position. The reason to be getting into an athletic position and into the MLB hitting stance is to help use the right muscles and then allowing for there swing to get better and feeling there natural swing.
