RBI Academy | Hitting Stance

Discover the basics of getting into a good hitting stance with Coach Tino! In this insightful video, Tino breaks down the essential elements for getting into a powerful hitting position. Perfect for players of all ages, especially those new to baseball or softball.

Learn where to position your hands on the bat, how to set your feet, and the best placement of your hands for a powerful and precise hit.

This is how Coach Tino gets into his hitting stance:

  1. Lines his knuckles up, by pointing both index fingers toward the sky in the same direction.
  2. Transfers his weight down on his knees, putting him in an athletic position to swing.
  3. Lifts his hands to his ears, keeping his upper body loose to allow for a fluid swing.
  4. Begins to load by transferring his weight more towards his back leg, then rotating his back elbow and back knee towards the ball, while blocking his front leg. This allows for the bat to pass through the strike zone where various pitches can be hit.

His swing is then complete when his knee, hip, and shoulder are aligned.
